Cleaning up your Debian/Ubuntu installation

As like many people running Debian or Ubuntu Linux installation, i tend to try out a lot of software. Since its easy to install, and remove ( if you don't like it ) . But what happens when you do this, you end up with a lot of orphan packages. Orphan packages are all those dependency libraries that get installed with a chosen software. ( Note this isn't limited to Linux. Windows installs files and doesn't necessarily remove them all upon uninstall ).

I saw this article that shows a quick and simple way of cleaning up said orphaned libraries. http://www.arsgeek.com/?p=708 . This article shows two simple ways of "cleaning up" your installation of files that aren't in use.
